Comfeel Plus Pressure Relieving Dressing play a supporting role to the main forms of treatment of pressure ulcers such as specialists matresses / beds, therapeutic patient turning schedules and other specialist measures.
Comfeel Plus Pressure Relieving Dressings are indicated for use with low to medium exuding wounds and can provide some reduction and redistribution in the local pressure load applied to the skin.
The dressing is hydrocolloid based covered with a 6mm thick foam layer containing three central concentric rings which can be removed to match the size of the pressure ulcer beneath. (see illustrations)
When applied to the wound, the remaining foam rings cushion the region around the ulcer and may allow for a reduction of pressure around the wound tissue.
In addition to redistributing pressure, Comfeel Plus Pressure Relieving Dressing:
- Contains CMC and alginate - for absorption of exudate
- Has an intelligent top film - for effective exudate management
- Is water, bacteria and virus proof - including MRSA and HIV
